More on Poky Linux 3.0

Intention:
Poky wants to showcase the abilities of OpenHand the company behind the project. According to one of the developers:

Poky currently exists as a showcase of the kind of things OH can do and as a platform we can give people to build on and support them in that on a commercial basis. If people want to setup communities around devices like the N800 they can do so but the amount of support we can give has to be limited. We do take bug reports and improvements seriously but we need to keep sight of poky’s primary focus.

Hardware support:
Since the build is experimental full hardware support is not available (yet). For example, wifi doesn’t work yet and the power button suspend doesn’t work (but the apm -s command in the terminal will suspend the device)

Speed and resource efficiency:
Because of its Sato GUI and other modifcations Poky should be more efficient and faster than IT2007.
